the dr doing daughter's eval called tonight to say that he just needed me to answer some more questions before finishing up the report. ...some of them were absolutely hysterical, in light of the fact that we believe daughter is an aspie... (I live by the philosophy " why cry about the nuttiness, when you can have a good laugh?")
Question 1. Does your daughter always have to follow the rules of a game ?~Answer: have you ever tried to play a game in which there are "house rules"?Daughter does NOT agree with this.
Question 2. Will your daughter ask permission before touching other peoples things ? ~Answer: well, she does ask permission, but only after she has already picked up the item in question
Question 3. Does your daughter make inappropriate/blunt comments about others in public ?Answer: LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL
Question 4. Does your daughter realize that others think differently than her ? Answer~ you mean they don't ?

can't wiat for this eval to be over~it seems like everything is on hold while we wait for the official results.

they do that for a diagnoses. They have to know what syptoms your daughter has or they won't be able to diagnose her.

That's subjective, especially if parents are on the spectrum too

Sounds like her and my son would hit it off great. I'm an aspie...but I'm pretty introverted...my son on the other hand. LOL...it sure can be interesting some days.

Beenthere~ OMG! i love your message at the bottom of your post ( normal is only a setting on the dryer)....wish i had thought of it...
daughter is pretty disinhibited with other people....it seems so strange that she has no problem touching everyone else's stuff, but don't go & touch her stuff.....

My son to a "T" LOL..."sharing" is really not a concept to him most days.... He'll be 8 in March.

So far there haven't been any problems in school...so I've been a bit hesitant to seek an evaluation, but lately I've been considering having a private evaluation done anyways, because it might be helpful in the future.
