I have a very expressive face and I have read other posts where aspies claim to have very few facial expressions.
I want to know if I am a very unusual aspie or are other aspies like me.
Facial expressions have always been no chore for me. Smiling when I am happy is very simple for me.
Even as I child my face was very expressive.

Having flat affect is common in autism, but not required.

I am not really able to spare attention to manage my facial expressions, so I don't fake them, and I don't naturally display many.

If I am in tune with a conversation then yes. Most of the time I stay in my own head regardless of where I am though lol. . .

It takes a LOT to make me change my expression but it does happen from time to time. Though I am not sure if it shows because I was once watching my former girlfriend sleep when she woke up. I felt the biggest smile on my face but she said I was staring at her like a psycho.

Very expressive. I show everything I think through my face. Especially my eyebrows.

My mouth however never really moves, permanent scowl in place. All the time. My smiles are a terrifying thing.

Sometimes I make the wrong facial expressions at the wrong times.
I do have many facial expressions but they are often wrong.
Once I unconsciously and uncomfortably smiled at funeral. People treated me like a psycho for that.

I think that was sooo sweet! I like to do that too. I have such a hard time looking at someone I really care for. I keep thinking I am going to just pour out my devotion from my eyes and make a fool of myself. When I was younger, my exes used to tell me to never to stop looking at them like that. My face is very expressive. I have a difficult time controlling it. However, when I am sad or distressed, I am "stonefaced". Or so I think.

On a side note: I think this "flat-faced" look contributes to the younger looking appearance I hear we aspies have seemed to develop. Less expressions means less wrinkles?

I always have a scowl on my face. It's just my natural look. Alienates a lot of people. So sometimes if I'm out in public I drop my mouth open to relax my face. I'd rather look dumb than mean. Sometimes I smile, but one time I looked in the mirror and my smile was only on one side of my face and looked really creepy. In my profile picture I'm smiling fairly normally, but it took some effort. Didn't get it right on the first "take".

i have an extremely expressive face, but unfortunately my face only ever has one expression, and that is an expression of indifference.

When I look at people making faces, I try to figure out how to make an expression, and it's...confusing. I can deliberately do some, but some are like: How do you manage all that at once?

I used to think I was being expressive, then I looked in the mirror and I really wasn't. When I 'really' smile I tend to feel dumb, like I'm really hamming it up just to fit someone else's standards.

At the same time, sometimes I find myself grinning or having some sort of indefinite expression that must look odd.. involuntary I guess, but always related to whatever I'm thinking about at the time

Hey I've expressed another element of myself into the infinitely existing internet/outer-reality-net.. shortly I'll be fully duplicated into the internet/etc and I won't really need my body anymore

My expressiveness is entirely dependent on how comfortable I feel and how much I feel that I have to fit in. When I was younger I took a lot of acting classes, and while I didn't excel at it I did learn the value of conveying the proper expression to make a point. So I exaggerate expressions sometimes, but I really have to work to smile or have any other face than a neutral one. A lot of it comes down to training to fit in and "pass".

I only have four expressions: My usual blank pokerface, a grim face that indicates that I'm very focused on a task, a creepy half-smile that I put on for photos (doesn't come easy to me), and a wide, idiotic grin that I can't really control. I laugh too, but I only do that at home (i.e. when I'm alone), usually when I'm watching a movie or something.

I make a similar expression. That's actually a really good photo.
I like the hair color.

Not really. Sometimes I don't let myself smile and I don't know why, it's almost subconcious. "Oops, I look happy, better correct that."
