Hi all, im a diagnosed aspie, however ive also had times where i talked excessively (im normally quite shy,) outdrank everyone and slept very little. I also felt like i was on ecstacy. I had depression for a while but it went away. Could this be another obsession or is could i be bipolar?

The depression went for about five months or so, then just stopped and went away. The first time i went silly i cant be sure of, i was like 13 or so, but it happened again last year and went for about five or six months.

Sounds VERY much like hypomania or mania, especially since you said that you normally are shy but became extremely social and the "life of the party." I highly suspect a form of bipolar disorder, also because you've had periods of depression. During the times you've felt like you were on ectsasy, if you also felt like you could do anything, had more energy and felt more creative, and/or had racing thoughts, the possibility of bipolar disorder is even more valid. You should definitely talk to a psychologist or psychiatrist about your mood.

Probably cyclothymia or something else on the bipolar spectrum.

Thanks for the input. The racing thoughts sound familar, and i have written a fair few songs in those times. When it happened last year i became heavily involved in a thrash metal band and actually thought we were on the road to fame. Looking back this would have been impossible as we never had a singer. I will definitely be seeing a psychaitrist after what you have replied.

I went through phases like that when I was suffering from a psychotic depression. I was originally suspected of being bipolar but that was quickly ruled out. It's possible that could be related to your depression; I haven['t had those phases sense I got over my depression which was like 4 years ago & I haven't been on those meds sense
