ok, say you are an "adult" by technical standards anyway, how old were you when you stopped playing with toys. for me, i want to say 6th-7th grade. i do vividly remember playing with them up until about this time, and then i got some pets, so i suppose it replaced my interest in "toys". i just want to see if there are any similar results/feedback.

i dont just mean video games, or sports, i'm talking more specifically about 'personifying inanimate objects' or 'creating little worlds' for these 'characters'.

thank you

The last memory I have of playing with toys is from when I was about 8. I was never really that much of a toy person. I always had stereotypically autistic interests like calendar calculating, geography, presidents, and stuff like that.

Yes, and you were also supposed to use "you're" instead of "your".

To err is human and something people can relate to.

Making mistakes makes you seem more like a person.. writing perfectly all the time isn't respected anymore it's just seen as weird and gives people the false impression that you've got a superiority complex or other negative personality traits (especially when you correct people) so just a heads up :P

I have a set of words I taught myself to consitently spell wrong, contractions I misuse and I rarely use the apostrophe (mostly only to differentiate between were and we're).

Why isn't there an alternative below 10 years? I stopped at about 5 years or so.

ok. good responses so far. i'm sorry that i did not include under 10, i just assumed that over 10 was unusual enough. but i suppose in all relation, under 10 could be considered unusual as well. perhaps i should have included it. if you stopped playing with toys before or after the poll ages post them. i was just wondering how frequent/infrequent an occurance this is. especially considering the amount of isolation from socialization that many aspies have experienced.

thank you all.

I dont recall "playing" with my stuffed animals...just talking to them.My other "toys" were things I collected in nature and I didnt play with them, just arranged them and looked at them(rocks, bark, fossils, feathers)I did have a "barbie head" thing that I would put makeup on but I saw it more as "painting".

I still buy stuffed animals and "toys that do something...like sing, bark, meow, dance"and I am 43.
