I dropped to PR 97 this time, after successfully climbing to 99 on my last mock exam. I'm pretty upset about this...because I want to get into the best high school for girls in Taipei, after that I want to go to Caltech for uni...and PR 97 is on the brink of NOT getting in that high school. here are the facts: my mom might kill herself(NOT KIDDING) if I do not qualify for TFG( that school), and my iq is supposedly really up there near the top so now I don't even have an excuse...

Only 99 days, two mock exams left until the big one. I gotta get my grades up again or else. 8O
Or else I'm gonna be really screwed. Sigh.

Don't worry, Taipei First Girls' High School... is not the only school in Taiwan that matters. HSNU is good, too.

I don't quite understand the obsession to get into the best schools in the country, because life is a longer journey than High School

I know that east Asian cultures are often really into work ethic and structure but sometimes that can dull your mental acuity a bit. If you already "know" the material and you just need to give your best performance at test time, try taking a break to refresh your mind.

Fellow Asian, it seems...judging from your username. Taiwanese? :D

For girls, HSNU has the same cutoff grade as TFG...403 points out of 412, a rough PR 97...

Yeah I think I'll get that grade or better but I'm just really worried. PR 99 is the only way to be absolutely sure I'll get accepted. 8O

Edit:

East Asian life is...hard...for a ninth grader. Now I get up at five and go to bed at midnight, lol. 18 hours of studying per day. 8O

Yep, I'm a fellow Asian. I currently live in Singapore.

Hopefully you'll get the grades you need.

I didn't get A's in school. I thought life will be a disaster. But life is good to me, so far, because a job that feeds us and a smile in whatever we do does go a long way.

All the best to your exams :)
