Ok. I think i have it figured out. When i was in high school (hs) i had a rough time mostly at the hands of your average football jock. this is just a continuation of a long history of male dominance and competition for alpha male stature. way back when, early man had to fight for survival, we were hunter/gatherers, every year around the end of august and beginning of september, we would begin the annual harvest to keep ourselves and our families fed for the winter. often, members of other tribes would attempt to fight us to get what we had, and to prove he as the alpha male. If he succeded, he was the champion and the loser would go home defeated with nothing.
fast forward 4000 years....
Now. In hs every year ath the end of august or beginning of september the long tradition of hs football starts up and then ends late in november. each team member has a girlfriend on the sidelines (or in the cave if you prefer) the harvest part of things is not emphasized as much, but the dominance trait is bold as ever. at the end of every game one tem is declared winner the other loser must go home with nothing, defeated.
People like me and many of us on WP choose not to participate in this ritual, we have moved on from this ape like behavior, our dominant counterparts see this at a threat and feel they have to torture us, to elimiate us.
Now you may ask: why dont we become the alphas?
Answer: We are not allowed, a class system is in place and any attempt to improve our standing will only result in defeat. Think, the word "autism" was only penned in 1943, but no doubt it has been around much longer. if we as aspies dont understand "social norms" now therre is no way we understood the social system at work 4000 years ago.
Thank God i am out of hs, but i feel for those who are.
Our aspie ancestors often froze and died because nobody in the NT world bothered to help, they were only concerned for their own well-being.
We are lucky today in this world of supermarkets and house insulation and heat that is available by only moving a dial, i dont know about you, but socially i am freezing.

I think most of us already knew this, and a lot of NT's know this as well. The difference is that most NTs, even if they're aware of these absurd ape/cave man rituals, find them right in order.

I think that within our own space, our own boundaries, we are very much alphas.
Why must we live in, and actively participate, in a society that is so black and white, the winner and loser; powerful and weak; victor and victim.
Shouldn't there be more to life and in life than people who win and people and don't. Why must we agree with this, aren't we well placed to see the shades i between.
Note: I do realise that people with AS tend to be quite literal, but i believe that the majority of people are able the see all the inbetweens, so why must we continue this archaic society?
Well now, isn't that the problem? There are more of "them" than "us". The solution is simple; make more babies and avoid joining the military. They may just solve the problem on their own. I hope that's not being cinical, is seems well justified considering the "1% doctorine" advocated by the vice president of the US.
I suspect in a more "natural" environment an aspie might be more dominant.
Think about it this way: an NT alpha will beat his chest and proclaim that he "is the greatest."
An aspie doesn't care about such social displays and would just fire from the hip.
I suspect an aspie might also be sly like Odysseus when he returned home after his long journey. Instead of revealing himself immediatly or thumping his chest to try and scare off the men who sought to marry his wife, he bided his time and killed them when it was most oportune.

Greed, but importantly, thought processes and beliefs.. Believing in ones country CAN be as bad as religion.

I like to think of Asperger's as being a pseudonym for "higher, more intelligent, better-mannered being," but that's my own delusion of grandeur.
Personally, I am not impressed with the way neurotypical men go through the silly physical power rituals. I don't necessarily want the most brute man in the crowd; rather, I want the smartest, least-brutish in the crowd.

I think this is true for me at least.

Have you seen an AS flex his or her mental muscles, so to speak? I know quite a few AS people (including me) who will get quite dogmatic and opinionated when conversing about one of their favorite interests, almost to the point of arrogance. This is related to what I mentioned earlier, that we are alphas within our own space and boundaries. Perhaps we go through power rituals as well, it's just that the rituals are of a different type.
A lot of us AS folks suck at physical stuff anyway... I know I do!
