British Rock/The British Invasion. The Kinks are one such example of a British Invasion band from the 60s.

My favorite genre of music is Metal. Although I'm mostly into Thrash Metal, and thanks to a good friend, also into Power Metal. I also like Rock well enough :?

Favorite songs in no particular order except the first song is #1 to me...

-"The Flame" by Cheap Trick
-"Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult
-"Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica
-"Fade to Black" by Metallica
-"Welcome Home" by Metallica
-"The Four Horsemen" by Metallica
-"Skywards" by Elvenking
-"Moonchariot" by Elvenking
-"Hurricane" by 30 Seconds to Mars
-"This is War" by 30 Seconds to Mars

I'm not sure what to say about them, other than the songs inspire specific emotions in a strong way to me :?

I'm sure I have more, but those are the only ones I can think of at the moment >_>

Edit: I just looked at the poll again, and while it has what my favorite music type is, there are so many genres missing :|

I think if the poll had all, or even a quarter of all genres and subgenres it would probably just confuse things. People mean different things by the same name. But anyways....
One of my favourite 'tallica songs is four horsemen btw. :) could play most of it too, except parts of the solo but then I love improvising so was more fun to make one up.

I've actually been thinking I may try learning "The Four Horsemen"... I've only begun finding my skill just well enough to start to try playing some lead Metallica stuff... but it is a tough couple of solos, so I don't know if I'm quite ready :|

I listed my opinion as rock, but I listen to several genres. (And several sub-genres.)

Think wp runs slow enough without loads of embedededed vids lol
Would say definitely give it a try Lace-Bane, I doubt Kirk nailed it first time. ;)
Also as a step up from the riffs but not as tricky as the solo, try the suspiciously similar "mechanix" I think its called by Megadeth. ;)

I've been listening to a LOT of metal lately. And electronic. However, I really don't have a favorite genre. Metal and electronic just happen to be the genres I've been researching for various reasons.

Although, I have to say metal has been pretty consistent in my life since I was in elementary school.

I like a bit of everything but techno music is my favourite. I like a lot of the main stream stuff like Deadmau5 and Skrillex. I like older stuff as well. Tiesto, ATB, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buren, you name it...

I typically listen to progressive or hard rock (usually AOR), pop rock, some alternative and indie, and occasionally classical.
