Hello,
I'm new here, well, actually I've been here before and learned a lot from the message boards, but this is my first post. My husband of 28 years has AS, or so I've been told by 3 specialist counsellors, however he won't hear of it and I'm not allowed to mention the 'A' word.
I accept that's how it is for him. It's hard for me to stay in the marriage, we can't sort out any differences and I'm tired of just agreeing with him all the time to keep the peace so I currently have one foot out the door. I'm finding it hard to leave.
Enter Buteyko! My husband went to 5 workshops in the Buteyko breathing technique and has been raving about it ever since (2 weeks). It has cured 20 of his symptoms from sleep apnoea, anxiety, social confusion, wrinkles, alopecia, a sore shoulder, visual disturbances and so on. He says that for the first time in his life (he's 59) he is not struggling. This is nothing short of amazing and he is enthusiastic and confident. He has 'opened up' to me yesterday, being honest and exposing his vulnerability, sober, which is a first for him. He has done this twice, drunk, in 28 years.
I'm wondering if anyone else on this forum has heard of, or had, similar experiences with breathwork/Buteyko to help them in any way?
Thanks!
