I have aspergers;however lately I've been really hyper in class because I'm bored. I'm just; doing my own thing, doodling, asking the teachers random questions. The only subjects I don't do this( and I enjoy) are Science and maths. Other than that, really hyper. Especially in PE, I was jumping around and play fighting alot. Does anyone else get this?

I'm very figety and hyper active. I've always thought it related to my ADD and my inability to keep my mind focused on one thing at a tim-I wonder what I'm eating for dinner tonight...hmm...

I'm fidgety and I fiddle with things a lot. My attention span is generally quite short these days too, although it didn't used to be..

I get very hyper and I had a hard time controlling it as a kid. I would get so hyper I would start attention seeking. I have better control over it now but I still get hyper and I will pace or flap my arms or fidget in my seat. I always figure this was ADD related but I also thought I maybe have ADHD too and mom told me I only have ADD, not ADHD. Technically I am ADHD now because they removed ADD from the DSM but I don't know which ADHD I have.

Not always, no one would ever describe me as hyper... Inattentive yes, but not hyper.

When I was younger I was very hyper. It seems to have calmed down during my 30's. I'm still more hyper than most people half my age.
I work on the sixth floor and I run, not walk, up them two or three times each day. I"m constantly getting up and walking around or doing deep knee bends while typing. I like living where I can have a route to and from work where I can do about 200 miles each week on my bicycles.

Things I can do today - stand and wait in line at the grocery, if it is short. Sit, sometimes, for two hours, but I pay for it.

Being hyper has always made it hard to find a girlfriend. I only like girls who are autistic and hyper, too.

ADHD-PI (Primarily Inattentive type)

ADHD-PH (Primarily Hyperactive Impulsive)

PI has no hyperactivity or impulsiveness. When it does it's called combined ADHD.

I'm hyper. Hyper to me is when I get easily bored, information seeking or if I control it I'm able to process a little better or get some tasks done, by speeding through them. But there are times when I can't even watch TV I'm so hyper. Mostly I'll be able to hyper focus on something that in a few hours won't matter to me or I won't be able to focus at all. Flapping does help me focus on something I'm really struggling with like a TV show.

I fidget and fiddle quite a bit, and my attention span is usually shorter than my dog's (unless it's something I consider important). It's always been that way, although I've learned to control it more these days. I would say I'm more inattentive than hyperactive, though. I spend more time with my eyes glazed over than I do fidgeting now that I've realized it's easier to escape detection that way.

In people with AS without ADHD, the only so-called "hyperactivity" I've seen so far was a perfectly normal activity level (taking sensory distress into account that other people don't notice as much) at a totally inappropriate time and often expressed in (socially) "inappropriate" ways such as by talking about a special interest, interrupting others instead of joining the flow of conversation, motor mannerisms/stims and just being bored and showing it instead of being as polite to pretend otherwise.

It fazes me why people talk about how "hyperactive" an autistic kid is for flapping their hands or for starting to talk in situations in which other children know from non-verbal signals that they're expected to keep quiet for a moment.

Anyway, I am hyperactive but I also have ADHD.

I used to get pretty hyper as a kid like most do. But now I rarely get hyper, my energy can increase at random and such but rarely to the point of being hyperactive. My low attention span has remained though as I find it difficult to focus on one thing.
