Why was my thread about my support group deleted?

I posted a thread about the support group I go to, and how it is in a contest to win 1000 dollars, and how wrongplanet members can help. It's a great group where you can hangout and make friends. The mod who deleted it said

What does that even mean? People go about making threads in support of Autsim Speaks and other groups all the time. Why is my group, which is about having fun, making friends, and finding common interests not allowed? By talking about my group, and how you can help it, it does nothing to hurt wrongplanet, or lead people to stop posting about it.

Wrong planet has done some crap things in the past, but this Really makes me mad. Wrong planet is supposed to be about coming together, talking and finding support. I guess not.

Edited to add: Nothing is TOS says anything against this. Nor the Rules.

promoting your group on WrongPlanet is generally not permitted. but anyway your thread was not intended to promote your group, it was intended to raise money, which is not cool.
