Strangely I slept better last night than I had done in weeks!
I got to sleep by midnight and just slept through until 8!

The biggest problem I have is thoughts going round and round stopping me from sleeping.

I like this idea:

Some nights I just want to be able to take my brain out of my head and set it on the nightstand till I need it again in the morning.

I wish I didn't worry so much or have so many repetitive thoughts. It never usually happens during the day but as soon as the light goes off and my head hits the pillow, my thoughts begin to spiral and I just can't stop them.

My circadian rhythm has been screwed up as long as I remember. I have memories of laying in bed (or crib at the time) not being able to sleep going back to when I was 2 or 3 years old. 35+ years later it hasn't changed. It has caused me major problems throughout my life. When I was around 20 I went to a doctor for help with this. He told me to drink warm milk, I told him I'm allergic to milk, he told me to eat turkey, I told him to go screw himself. I think that's when I stopped trusting doctors.
