Why do you think people Plan OR DON'T Plan things?

I've made a topic asking if people here did plan things but this is a different type of question why do YOU or DON'T YOU plan things? Do you know someone who plans things and if so why if you do or don't why? I have to verbally out loud say "Ok do A,B,C chore" or I'll forget it. I also plan going shopping or seeing a film weeks in advance or at least a week before it comes out. For example my sister already said we might go see Spider-Man one Thurs. evening I thought it wasn't coming out until next weekend but looked and it comes out Tues. I asked her and she wasn't sure about the 5th so but then I asked of my 5yr old nephew Logan would sit through a 2hr. movie she said she didn't know and didn't want to "plan" her week.

I HAVE to plan so I know what I'm doing. I'm not seriously busy but I HATE having things sprung on me like that. It's very upsetting emotionally.
