In this case I'm very much opposed to him being executed. The reason being that he is the type who will see death an escape from the consequences of his actions; and therefore the death penalty is too humane. I say life in prison without parole and bar him from receiving protective custody or solitary confinement. If he is to be sentenced to die he will most likely receive solitary and a humane execution and I see that as spoiling his sorry ass rotten. What he needs is to spend the rest of his life being *violated* by other inmates on a regular basis and the plight of his booty behind bars used as an example to other potential/would-be mass shooters as to what REALLY happens to people who do this. :

What to do with him? Stop giving him attention. Stop showing his picture.

Mass shooters are not rational. They won't care what happens to him.

Until his trial is over, that aint gonna happen. I was asking what his long term punishment should be.

It's impossible to say right now. We don't know the extent of his mental illness or why he committed these crimes.

Frankly, if someone doesn't have a criminal record or a previous trial for manslaughter, I'm inclined to take their revenge fantasies with a pinch of salt.

I strongly believe that mentally ill criminals should not be allowed to use their insanity to procure a lesser sentence than if they were sane.

Prison, so other thugs can rape his grinning mouth.

Um, we are talking about VIOLENT CRIMINALS here! Corrective rape is carried out against innocent women simply because they are lesbians. Why do you have any compassion for this guy?

Also, where did you get the idea that Joran van der Sloot is *top dog* in prison(in Peru)? I read that he's now a b***h in there!

I don't think he's mentally ill in any conventional sense.

In Brevik's case two sets of state psychiatrists reached two different judgements. One set said he was a paranoid schizophrenic. The other said he was not. It hinged on whether his fear (muslim takeover) was a delusional or a political belief. Which shows how semantics based and wishy-washy these determinations can be.

I think this guy is a misanthrope and a nihilist. He's disconnected from people, doesnt like them at all, and decided to commit a form of aggressive suicide. I think he was just enamored with the views expressed by the Joker, fueled by depression, and he decided to knock some things over. We spend much less time analyzing terrorists. They hate, they act. Period.
