Hello, I'm new, too.

I'm another new kid. Self-diagnosed AS, but I'm working toward a professional diagnosis with my current therapist. It's hard to be 100% sure that I'm really on the spectrum, but I've done the reading (Aspergirls by Rudy Simone, for example), trolled the blogs, and it all just really resonates with me. I could list what exactly clicks, but that would be a long list. So some of my Aspie traits that may or may not sound familiar:

-I taught myself math at age 4-5 (and I'm a scientist)
-I hate unfamiliar physical/social contact (I was punished for refusing to hug relatives at a young age, actually)
-I dislike people in large crowds
-I easily get sensory overload meltdowns (supermarkets are my archenemy)
-I am socially confused

One of my favorite songs is my username, Cosmic Castaway by Electrasy. It sort of reminds me of everything I feel:

Nice choice of a song, it's a favorite of mine too. I immediately remembered it again once I'd gotten my diagnosis and it had a whole new meaning.

I ran into one of your posts and it prompted me to do a YouTube search for anything Aspies have created using the song... which in turn returned this post as one of the results.
