Going back to school...Advice?
I am going back to my old school in January 2007. If you any of you have been paying attention to my posts, then you would know that people from that school treated me like sh!t. They think I'm weird, annoying, and stupid and they have no respect for me. They are also always spreading rumors about me and tracking down my blogs. You'd think that people would actually have a f***ing life, right? But anyways,I am not sure that I want to go. That school is a small preppy private school. I want to go to a large public school about 20 minutes away from where I live. My parents said that they would THINK about it,but I'm quite sure they are going to send me back to my old school instead of making a freash start at a new school.
How can I talk my parents into sending me to the public school?

Ok - this is long but I use it everyday at work and it works.
Step 1: identify your parent's styles. This willl tell you how to apprach them for best results.
Analyzers value data above all else.
Expressors and relators base a good chunk of decisions on their comfort level (emotional). Expressors will talk about their wants, needs, and goals while relators will want group concensus.
Directors like to be in control. You give them options and they pick but if you give them logical reasons and action plans they can be persuadeded as easily as the others.
Step 2: Learn parents issues. what about the public school are they afraid of/uncomfortable?
Step 3: Develope your arguments/proposals. Analyzers will want facts like graduation rates, student test performance, special ed track record, lists of classes that you want to take, etc. Expressors will want to talk about the benifits of both schools. Directors will want to see a plan how the new school helps to achieve goals (better chance of collage, improved grades, etc)
Step 4: Present arguments in a way that matches your parents type.
See step 1.
Good luck. E-mail if you need more help... At work how to do this is a week long class in executive skills so feel free to email questions
good luck..
