Actually, a warmer climate is likely to lead to a greater abundance of food, not less. Historically, when the Earth warmed up, there was more food and life was easier. It is when the climate turns cold that food becomes scarce.
That is true only after the changed climate has stabilized. What we are heading into right now is extreme destabilization because of climate change, giving us extreme weather. We have already started getting an increase in droughts, floods and hurricanes.

It will be scarcities of food. It already is and already probably because of climate change. The extreme drought in the midwestern US this summer killed quite a bit of the corn and soy crops, pushing up prices. This sort of phenomenon- crops destroyed by extreme weather- is predicted to increase and is what lostonearth is referring to. In the distant future the earth will probably stabilize at a higher tempurature, as it has done cyclically in the past. Whatever life forms inhabit the planet at that time will enjoy abundance. Hopefully our descendents will be among these life forms. But in the immediate future, things are going to be rough.
