I have an updated version of internet explorer, and I have scanned for malfare and also keep the anti-virus up to date and have cleared my cookies and restarted my computer, but this particular site is still so slow (the other sites are OK). I don't think it's anything to do with my internet browser, I think it's just this site.

Each time I hit the submit button, it takes a long while to do anything, then it goes on to the dreaded ''explorer cannot load the webpage'', so I've got to go back on to my posts (lucky I saved it in my favourites) to see if it has gone through, and 9 times out of 10 it does, but it's still annoying.

Is this just a temporary bug with the site, or is it just happening to me?

I use Chrome and I don't have any issues at all.

I've done a great deed ditching IE a while ago and using Firefox and Chrome instead.

It is an intermittent problem with the site. The software is archaic and it can't cope very well when there are a lot of users on the site, so it gets slower and slower and occasionally stops completely. Today has been like wading through treacle.

Odd - it's been running fine here all day.
That said, there is a lot of stuff between the site and its users and it's quite possible there could be temporary problems with that - more than with WP itself.

I've been noticing "hiccups" with my internet connection, where it will stall for a couple seconds. When I still had my desktop, which ran Windows Vista, it would crash. My new laptop runs Win 7 and is much better. I almost exclusively use Firefox. I don't trust Microsoft, it's that simple. If I could get away with running Ubuntu, I would. But all my software is in Windows. Maybe it's a problem with your internet service? I do know that WP uses archaic software that tends to crash.
