How long did it take you to find a boyfriend/girlfriend? I have been wanting a boyfriend quite a bit over the past year and 1/2.

I'm 58 and still looking. Well, for the most part I've given up. But if something does turn up, don't rule me out completely.

My Aspie husband had his first girlfriend at college. He was about 19. I was his 3rd girlfriend. We met when I was 23 and he was 26. We are happily married now.

I met my now husband when I was twenty-six, and we've been together for almost eleven years now. I had one other long term relationship (four years) when I was seventeen, but that one was a slow motion train wreck more than anything.

I was too shy to ask people out in high school and college. I couldn't conquer my social anxieties, so I just was miserable the whole time basically. Dated a couple girls after I graduated, but didn't get very far with either. Tried online dating and it worked. I lost my virginity to a guy, right after my 24th birthday. Dated a few other guys, then went back into the world of women. Later that year (still 24) I got a girlfriend. That lasted until May this year, and then I got my current boyfriend in June.

I started quite late but feel a lot better about my love life now. I'm still pretty resentful about all the years I lost, but I was able to make up for lost time in the past two years.

I found one potential boyfriend but he was taken. Oddly though I've had two girlfriends that i desperately tried to make work, but the feelings weren't there. Somehow one lasted 2 years despite this...

Typically I don't "find" them, they find me. People have been finding me since I was 16. Someone found me when I was 18 and we were together until I was 24. So it goes.

I'm 31 and have never had a significant other. My gender identity issues have prevented it.

Straight women and gay men want someone who is mentally male. Gay women and straight men want someone who looks female. I can't fulfill either role.

I've only knowingly met one bisexual ever, and he isn't interested in me.

You know there is more than just straight/gay/bi right? For that matter more than just men/women. A lot of people deal with similar issues to yours or are sympathetic to them. For that reason a lot of people just identify as "queer". You should look for those people.
