Why did I not find this place sooner?

just signed up after staying up late digging around the forums here, utterly astounded at the fact that I had not discovered such an amazing resource, and could not wait to contribute.

I have not realized until I lurked in the forums this evening how wonderful it is to hear from people who have faced the same challenges and difficulties as I have as an adult with Asperger's or Autism, (apologies if I don't know the local lingo.)

I am an adult male of 29 from Canada, having been diagnosed with Asperger's since I was around fourteen. Previously they had thought I had ADD, blah blah blah... not going to blather the entire story to you, as I'm sure it's been heard before in some variant.

As it is rather late and I'm very tired, I shall log out for now saying that I hope to lurk here for many years to come, and ask questions and join discussions where I can.

I thank the hosts for this site, and look forward to future correspondence with the various members of this community!

29 vs 48 - you got here sooner than I did! So, don't complain!

I joined after you, so perhaps I cannot say "Welcome!" - "Hello!" would be more appropriate - so, "Hello" and "Good luck!"

I didn't get my AS dianosis until I was 46 - and then only because a social work intern was astute enough to suggest it to a psychiatrist who had never seen anything other than Major Depression. (Yes, to doctors, we are our diseases.)
