why wont the page number search box work?

In my profile I go to see all posts by monstermunch and theres a white box next to all the page numbers where you can write a number you want and it should take you to the page, for example I type in 6 and it just goes back to page 1 so I got to go through all the pages til I get to the one I want, also on my brothers wrongplanet account he has over 700 pages and still has the same problem so its not anything to do with how many pages you got. Its annoying to have to click on every page one by one to get to ones in the middle so whats the point in having a search box to type in a number of the page you want but not working? Is there any reasons or solutions for this? Thanks

It has been broken for a very long time. I doubt Alex will ever fix it. As a work around you can change the page start directly in the URL shown in your browser. Skip to the 2nd and 3rd pages and look at how the URL changes. You can directly type a number into there overwriting the number shown and go directly to that page of results. As I remember there are 50 posts per page and the number increments accordingly.
