Is that murderous farmer the same one who's wife made quilts from the vagrants' clothing?

I'm not sure.Maybe this has happened a lot, nobody misses vagrants. That's a real scary thought. They would be easy targets for evil preadators.

Not quite true--"vagrants" as you call them tend to have established social networks, especially in urban centres where homeless people tend to congregate. And they certainly do watch out for each other.

But when they are missed and their disappearances are reported to police, too often nothing is done. Read up on the victims of Robert Pickton and you will see what I mean.

How awful! It's true that many people that live on the fringes of society are victims, many are too afraid of the police to report any crimes committed against them.Or they assume that nobody cares and sadly this is true too much of the time.

the word 'pet' implies ownership. Ownership of human beings is illegal, and rightly so.

It might have been, I can't remember now. The wife ended up in prison too. She pleaded innocence and claimed not to know what happened to the vagrants, but police found a list in her handwriting of all the vagrants they'd taken in and with a cross against the names of those the husband had killed.

There is also Hugh Hefner, who maintains a number of 18-20 year-old wenches as pets.

In the BDSM community there are people who like the idea of human "pets" and some who like the idea of being human "pets". They hook up with each other and everybody is happy.

There are also slave contracts between people. Some want a slave and some want to be a slave. They talk about it, find someone who wants to do what they want them to do/wants them to do what they want to do, and work it out and then write up a non legally binding contract which they both abide by. Some people do it 24/7 for months or years at a time, while others do it for a few hours or a weekend or something.

As to the other topic on here, bums and hookers are victims of murder fairly often and it either doesn't get reported or it's not given a priority and not often solved.

This thread made me laugh. I often felt my son is my pet because toddlers and baby animals have similar behavior. You use gates, you use play pens or cribs and that is their kennel. They both chew on things or wreck things, they both climb onto things. But the difference is you cannot leave your baby home alone locked in their crib or even leave them in a kennel or leave them outside. You also have to house train them. You have to take them everywhere with you or get a baby sitter. They also make noise. They can also go on leashes if they have the tenancy to take off and not ever stay with you and they risk running into traffic or getting lost. They also go in strollers just like I have seen with cats and dogs.

I love my pet except I made him.

My gf's not all that different from my dog; as long as I spend a couple hours each day petting her and telling her how pretty she is, she's happy. But she doesn't take it very well when I shoo her off the furniture or put her food dish outside.
