In the county above me they offer wild hog hunts,one of your options is to only use a knife.I don't know if anyone actually did one.I've seen wild hogs in the woods, a gun is a way better choice.

Because someone figured out that gunpowder could be used to fling projectiles without the need of training as opposed to bows. Also, they were deadlier when developed enough. Someone was bound to invent them, sooner or later.

A gun is a tool, just like a hammer, a nail-gun, a screwdriver, an extension cord, and you know what else all of those things have in common? You can kill someone with them.
