Hi, I'm a new member.
I'm female, nearly 20, and live in Dorset England.
I like art and Stained glass and I have just started a part time job.
I like to keep busy and would like to hear from anyone, especially if they any advice on how to make friends.

What are your other interests this could give an indication of how you could meet friends
I also have trouble meeting people particularly with first impressions it can be easier if you have talked to them online first maybe join a forum of your particular interests and then you might feel comfortable meeting them.

hello :) i love stained glass too, especially in dark churches when there's bright sunshine through the stained glass windows :) what sort of art / artists do you like?

i find it very difficult making friends, it requires a lot of communication which takes a lot of energy :( it's easier when you find people you have things in common with and share similar interests.

Hi Halley,

I've asked the same question in another forum! Seems that many aspies
concern themselves with that issue, because of communication problems.
What do you think is your special problem with that? I think, my problem is,
- except for keeping the relation alive - that I'm looking for another type of friends,
than others do. In effect I don't like lukewarm, superficial relations.
So I subconsciously avoid it, or break the tie, even though it took much effort in the run-up.
On the other hand, I don't like too much contact. So it is very hard to find people,
who understand or tolerate this.
I cannot give you an answer to that question, but theese are my thoughts to that.
Try to find out, what you really need. Maybe same interests can help!

I hope you understand what I wanted to say - excuse my mistakes in writing (I'm german)

Hello Halley, welcome to WP.

I love art too, both going to visit galleries and painting. Do you make stained glass yourself?

I hope you enjoy your time here at the forum.

Thank for taking the time to reply.
I think you are right. It may be easier online initially and have a Happy Christmas.

I'm attending classes making stained glass. It's really good fun. My favourite artist is Beryl Cook because her paintings are bold and bright and jokey but clever with it.

I would love to have a go at stained glass, it is so beautiful.

I think Hubby's bought me a glass painting kit for Christmas (roots under the tree and has a good poke about  )

There aren't many galleries around here either, unfortunately, but I love looking at galleries online, it's the next best thing.

:)
