I swear to God, if I hear this bloody sentence one more time I think I'm going to go insane. All of my female friendships seem to end in this way. And no, I don't want to be your friend, I can't possibly be your friend after what I've just said to you, after I've just admitted my feelings for you, it would be just so painfully awkward as to be impossible. Oh well, at least it's not the first time I've experienced this before, so it should be easier for me to move on quicker, but still....there's something about those four words that I just really, really hate.

I hear ya. But try sleeping with someone and getting intimate with someone for three months and then hear her say those words and tell me how you feel.
It sucks hearing those words regardless of circumstances if you have feelings for them. It seems as if men having feelings turns them right off.

Sorry to hear your relationship ended that way, Mike. I think the best thing to do in these situations is just to do your best to move on, really, and try not to dwell on it too much, however hard that may be. It's what I'm doing my best to do at the moment, anyway.

I'd sure take that over what I've experienced over and over again, which is very similar to what Tom keeps getting--only add that these girls sometimes add in barbs like "you're ugly" and "hahaha are you kidding me?!"

Yes... but on the flip side it's knowing you are going to miss that person's company as she walks into the arms of another guy and becomes happy with them. Different kind of pain.

"Let's just be friends." == "I'll be polite to you in public provided you leave me alone; otherwise I will call you out as a pathetic loser."

Dog, how I hate being friend-zoned.
