Ugh! Horrible stuff! Causes slippery roads and paths, and disrupts all my plans.

I only get every other week-end off, and this week-end I've got off and it's my only chance to get the bus (my special interest) and I've been looking forward to it all week, now it looks like I'm not going to be going this week-end. The whole of winter is going to be freezing, apparently.

There has been 40 accidents across the UK in this silly little half-an-inch snow.

The schools are all closed just because of a little flurry. Anyone would think we got 10 inches of snow for the first time in 100 years.

It says heavy rain for 13 hours straight tomorrow. I bet tonight when the weather gets updated, it'd then be forecasted as snow, because it will not rain at 2 celcius after being freezing all night. That'd take weeks to melt, then it'd snow more inbetween, so the snow will be higher than my house and melt in June, so I can't even look forward to the lovely springtime.

Scotland has warmer weather. The South-East gets all the horrible snow.

Roll on summer.

Rant over.

School closes down around here when the snow is 6+ inches, which is pretty reasonable considering that we get a lot of rain and wintery conditions out here as well.

Once it starts, it takes a long time to stop.

Even the tiniest threat of snow shuts Houston down, given how extremely rare it is down here.

Usually, though, when it's cold enough for snow (mid 20s is as cold as it gets down here), it's usually very dry.

I remember that white Christmas in Langley that happened 4 years ago. It snowed so much, that I had doubts that my dad could get me home on Boxing Day.

It's a colorless, odorless, crystalline solid and locally it appears in 18-foot deep drifts. Some people use it to make castles of it, others make idols of worship, partly clothed and otherwise equipped with household utensils to resemble humans. Still others make small spheres from it which they throw at each other, screaming and yelling like a bunch of hyenas, calling it fun. Usually the stuff melts away in mid-June but not always.

I love snow!, I don't think that Christmas really feels the same without a bit of snow :santa:. I do hate ice and the way that snow disrupts everything though, we haven't had any snow yet but my brother in Scotland has and has bought some awesome 'snow grip' things for his shoes which he hasn't slipped at all with yet :)

I'd like to add that snow is not completely white all the time. In the morning hours (I'm not sure exactly when, I'm never up that early to see myself) there appears mysterious yellow holes in the snow, distributed in a pattern close to building walls, traffic signs, lamp posts and trees of all sorts. They are like crop circles in that they are formed when no reasonable and good-reputed person is watching.
