I do get the point the OP made about the Muslim lass though. Round here there is a large Muslim population and it's quite commonplace to see a Muslimah in skinny jeans, high heels, a faceful of dramatic makeup and a hijab headscarf with her hair dangling out of the back of the scarf.

I'm not sure what the point of the hijab is when the rest of the outfit is quite sexy & attention-grabbing, but it's up to her what she wears.

There’s a lot of this sort where I live and yeah it is quite funny.
My theory that these young girls live in conservative families and are expected by their parents to veil themselves and not out of a personal faith.

20-30 years ago I recall only the muslim women aged 50-60+ veil themselves, just after pilgrimage, and gain the title “Hajja”, it was simply a mark of elderly back in this time.
Veiling among some of the younger women is a new phenomena since a decade and so only, at least where i live.

Where I grew up, it was not uncommon to see girls and young women in "skinny jeans, high heels, a faceful of dramatic makeup" and a cross or crucifix dangling from a chain around their necks.

It was as if they were saying "Yeah, I'm sexy, pure and virtuous!" The kind of woman who would enjoy intense coital activity on a Saturday night, and then be first in line at the confessional on Sunday morning.

^^ - Her: "Father, I did a great sin yesterday night, I had an amazing 69 with a sexy stranger yesterday, I rubbed my boobs over his entire body and -
- Priest: "Are you trying to get me horny, my child?"

No ... the priest is more likely to say something like, "I understand ... please continue ... yes ... oh, yes ... tell me more ..."

 Over and over again...

I wear yoga pants because they aren’t too restricting for yoga and I look good in them.

Some of my comfy sweat pants are made of stiff and thick fabric which impairs my ability to get into certain poses that require a lot of flexibility.

To OP's point though, isn't that why guys wear muscle shirts? Kind of showing off?

My mother wears Yoga pants to her Tai chi lessons. I really doubt she's wearing them to show off. She told me she's been looking everywhere for new Yoga pants but she either can't find any or they're really expensive. I guess all the other women bought them just to look sexy.

Personally, I could never really get into them. And not just literally.

But I’m not wearing them to show off. I wear them because they are comfortable and practical for yoga. I wouldn’t wear them, though, if I didn’t look good in them (especially if I had a lot of cellulite or something). I’d be too self conscious. I don’t like standing out.

I definitely don’t wear them to show off or stand out. They are so common these days that it’s not like I’m wearing anything unusual that would draw attention to me. Young women seem to wear them more than jeans (at least in my area they do).

Maybe just a difference of opinion, but I think looking good in form fitting attire stands out. Then again, I'm a heterosexual man, so.
