Idea: Take any fictional character whom you admire, and make up something he/she said/did. The second player then adds a second character and what he/she replied. Then the 3rd poster adds what the result/outcome was of this.

Sound OK? Any suggestions for improving this formula? Simple enough?

Gandalf lifted his staff and said "Who is willing to join me in my secret quest to ride to Rivendell and seek aid against the Black Riders?"

The privateer keys the mike.

"Captain Rekobah to Wizard Gandalf. Will provide off-world transportation on the Vestal Singularity, if needed. Standard contract. No Imperial entanglements. Rekobah out."

He sits back with a wry smile, knowing full well that his offer may not be welcomed by some...


(NOTE: I play an RPG called "Traveller" (Science-Fiction Adventure in the Far Future). This is the genre I am most familiar with, so it is the one that I am leading with.)

Gandalff, rising to his full height, his brows bristling under his broad-brimmed hat, bellows back:

We will seek the Dark Lord together throughout the known universe and in every known dimension, and we will prevail. However, currently we have here a wounded Ent whom our short sighted dwarf mistook for a tree, and swung at with his axe, permission granted to board your ship and seek medical attention? We have Republic credits...."

"I prefer Imperial credits, but Reppies will do. I'll have the hold reconfigured for your woody friend."

(The sleek Coursair of Naboo design quietly lands nearby. The cargo ramp lowers, and the Captain strides out.)

"Hey, I hear you need a lift. Let's get His Decidousness on a grav mule and haul us some gees!"

"Your kindness will not go unnoticed, Herr Captain," the wizard says. "His strength is sapped and we cannot leaf him alone with the Orcs having joined forces with the Emperor. I will recommend to your Quadrant Commander that your branch is promoted up the ladder of success."

"But Master Gandalf," the Captain replies, "Master Yoda is aboard and the men are now placing bets. Which of you is older? If you can prove your superiority in the superannuity stakes, the medical treatment will be for free."

I intend to follow the rule that says, "Each player controls only his or her own character, and may not direct the actions of any other character in the game", and ignore any actions where one player directs another player's character. To do otherwise invites chaos and spoils enjoyment of the game for everyone.

Sorry, wiz ... I couldn't quite hear you clearly over the noise ... you say Strephon and the Orcs are in cahoots? We live in dire times, indeed! Well, why doncha stow yer gear and prepare for jump. I know a little out of the way place where we can regroup with other rebel forces.
