I am going to meet my girlfriend's family for the first time, and I don't know what to do. They make me uncomfortable. Any advice on how to deal with them? I do like them and I love my girlfriend.

I'm confused.

They make you uncomfortable although you have never met them?

How does that work?

Yeah, that does sound confusing. But my guess would be you are uncomfortable because you are Aspie/Autistic and you don't know how to make the best impression of yourself?

That makes sense.

There have been times in the past when I had no idea how to behave under certain conditions and so I took my cues from the best model available -- movies and tv. Unfortunately, I tend to prefer comedies or westerns, neither of which are very good as models for modern social interactions and making good impressions.

Parents 8O

The type of people aspies are nervous to

As for me, I wouldn't mind my future gf meeting my mom (I don't have a dad, unfortunately)

Any mothers/fathers of their aspie children who are on this site should give some advice on here
