Another member reported to me they were not getting any notifications for watched topics or new PMs. I think he may have unsubscribed to the newsletter email. If members do this does it also kill all their notification emails?

I received a WP newsletter this morning that I don't want, but dare not click the unsubscribe link in case it wipes out all notifications too.

Alex are the two linked like this? If so I can see it causing a lot more problems for more members.

does "another member" mean "an additional member"?
i know i reported my problem to you, but if yet another member has reported the same thing, then there may be additional impetus for the site technicians to remedy the problem.

i suspect that my girlfriend also unsubscribed me from something. i do not know what she unsubscribed me from, because the information that i discovered pertinent to an "un-subscription" event relevant to wrong planet (when searching my action history) yielded no reference to the target of the un-subscription action. it may have been as simple as clicking the 3rd link in a topic reply notification (as shown below).

my girlfriend is the type of person who would only focus on the words "click here", and she would obey that "request" without reading the preceding text. i think that is what she did. she (of course) has no memory of her "boring safari" through my computer before i woke up that day.

i would advise that unsubscribing to any aspect of wrong planet (at this present time (before the rectification of the code)) may sever your "oxygen line" of replies (from what i have discerned).

i never click "unsubscribe" to anything. i simply allocate rules in my email configuration that flag them as spam, and i can look in the spam folder every few months to see if there is any thing that is not spam in it, and then control-a them all and delete them.

how can it cause a lot more problems (than the problems i am experiencing) for other members?

anyway whatever. i will just wait if i can until the problem is resolved, but if it is only me who was befallen by it, then i guess it will never be fixed.

I just noticed that today. I've had no notifications but a few threads that I OP'd and never opted out of had new messages that I wasn't informed of.

I haven't tried playing with any of my settings nor unsubscribing to any alerts - not sure what its about but I wouldn't doubt there are a least a few people in my shoes. I'll have to snoop around my account though and see if anything might have self-toggled. I'll holler if I find anything.

I haven't been getting notifications for the past couple of days. I didn't unsubscribe to the newsletter.
