If he becomes a pilot, and a very good one, and gets picked by a very tough selection programme and can take spending years of his life with a russian, chinese, and other americans then yes...he can be a astronaut. i prefer cosmonaut myself.

"It's bad because it's not good." is rather circular reasoning. Most kids go through a phrase where they want to be any and everything. Just let him enjoy himself and maybe, you never know, he might even achieve his dream one day. He'll most likely decide on something more practical once he's older though.

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a little kid. However now that I think about it I think it's because I wanted to go "home" to another planet.
