I feel like I forget who I am every time I'm supposed to put it into words. But here's my attempt.
I'm 20. I live in northern Europe. I like filming, video games, books and comics. I have a somewhat long list of mental disorders. I've been a NEET for a while, and writing this post is the most social thing I've done in several days. I spend almost all my time alone with my solitary hobbies, but occasionally I would like someone to talk to. I registered here many months ago, but am only now finding the courage to actually post.

^ I believe this stands for "Not in Education, Employment or Training".

(Also, hello, OP.)

The term for that on this side of the pond is "Living in Mom's basement". But at least our taxes are low for a failing empire.

I hate it too...there is nothing more impersonal than announcing your presence to a large group of people who won't even remember you exist a day later

I dislike it for another reason - I forget who it is that I'm introducing to others. Being remembered, on the contrary, surprises me, as I wonder who it is that people remembered.

I dislike it because I never know how to start :/
... so I generally introduce myself in a very clumsy way.

I also very much dislike the introduction type thing. Part of it is being singled out in front of a bunch of strangers/semi-strangers and the other part is trying to determine HOW to introduce yourself -- What do you say? How can you sum yourself up in brief? In class situations I always come later, because my last name begins with a letter much further into the alphabet, so I have time to determine what I can/should say about myself/who I am. By the time it comes my turn -- per usual -- it gets awkward and I always end up saying something in a weird way.... then I linger on how awkward it was and how odd I sounded and end up perpetually embarrassed about what people thought about it (even though I know they probably weren't even listening).

Anyways...

Hi.

Same here - I've been popping in and out of this site for a while, and only just signed up. You know the great thing about forums is you don't actually have to "talk" to anybody - and you can't see their eyes so - I personally - don't feel like I'm drowning like I do when I'm talking to someone.

I love it when I read something that describes me exactly, but I'd never before been able to describe it because I didn't have the words. This is one of those times.

I dislike introducing myself too - both because it's impersonal toward a bunch of people and because I don't know what to say about myself. So - in response to akar4 - something I found easier when I just recently started posting is I just find something I like talking about and find or create a thread about that. Don't force it.

(: Hello everyone.

So, hi.
