WHY
Before I knew I was an aspie:

When I was a young adult, I was riding the subway in Philadelphia with a male love interest. He was Italian-born and reading an Italian magazine. There was an article titled "Perche". I asked him what the word "Perche" meant. His reply was "Why". Then I said, "Because I'd like to know. What does it mean?" He replied again, "why" but with annoyance this time. I started to yell, "Because I'd like to know! What does it mean?! He then replied, "Perche means why!! !" I thought he was asking me why I wanted to know what Perche meant. Sheessh!! ! This relationship was a short one. He was the first and not the last person who said to me,"You're not even from this planet!" The bastard tried to use my psychotherapist to get a fake worker's compensation claim going but he was kicked out of the office. She promplty told me I was being used by this young man but she understood because I was her patient. After this happened, she focused all our sessions on my experiences with this guy. It turned out that the whole relationship was a sham. I was just being used throughout the entire relationship and didn't even realize it. She said that almost all of her patients were entirely too trusting but they were good people. 3/4 of them were spectrum disordered.

Each perceiver has only a narrow spectrum of perception of their own personal 'whyness'
