6. London Calling - The Clash (US release, don't know if that counts), Sandinista!, if it doesn't.

Interesting list, Rob... I must admit I haven't heard most of these albums, nor have I listened to all too many albums from the 80s at all (so can't really make a list).

I did hear Joshua Tree quite recently, and was impressed with it. My mother feels that it doesn't surpass Unforgettable Fire, though.

From favourite artists of mine, I like Living Colour's Vivid album (containing the single 'Cult of Personality') and George Michael's Faith.
I sampled a couple of 80s albums recently, and was pleasantly surprised by one-hit-wonder band Champaign's How 'Bout Us?; where the title track is a slow ballad, the rest of the album is mostly up-tempo funk.
