I am sick to death of all the injustice, ignorance, and prejudice that saturates modern human society. No matter what kind of social setting I attend, the odds are high that some dunderhead is going to spout something really stupid or offensive and ruin my day. The Internet is especially horrible about this. For example, whenever a thread appears on WP has something to do with black people, at least one racist a**hole is going to spew his bile into it. Now there does exist the option of simply ignoring all this crap, but my problem is that once I encounter evil, the memory of it never stops haunting me. The only other option is to rebut their ignorance, but I have found that people never let go of their pet delusions no matter what evidence you throw at them.

I wish I could get away from this wretched and unfair world, but not only is it impossible to make myself a total island from the rest of society, but it would be cowardly to let the suffering continue. I wish I had the power to make everyone get along and treat each other with respect.

I do not want to come off as being ignorant or uncaring but... this is how the world works. Nobody in the history of mankind, or even in fiction, has been able to completely stop injustice, ignorance, and prejudice. Moreover, any attempts at stopping injustice get mangled in politics. Is abortion injustice? Does war ultimately serve a greater good? Does affirmative action help create equality?

We do not live in a fair world, and even people who try to make it a fair world have to push and shove to have their opinions heard on a planet of 7 billion people. However, it doesn't mean you can't make the world "suck" less. If you really want to stop injustice and unfairness, there are several things you can do to help. First and foremost, become educated. I mean become educated in general politics. Get a worldview. Do not listen to just CNN or just Fox news. Try not to associate yourself with just one political faction and pretend all the other parties are neanderthals (as many people sadly do). Listen to what the Conservatives have to say, listen to what the Liberals have to say. Moreover, if you want to help make the world suck less, be good to other people. Treat other people politely. Volunteer your time to help other people, maybe in a soup kitchen, or a community event. You wont change the world, but you will change many people's lives.

If you sit around waiting for somebody to solve all of the world's problems then you will be powerless and they will go unsolved. If you take initiative and start trying to make the world a better place, then it will start to become one.

Abortion is injustice and the force behind ignorance towards people with disabilities.

Sorry folks, but it takes developing a "thick skin" to operate effectively in the modern word.

It can be said that those who see injustice everywhere were born 100 years too late - had they been born 100 years ago, it is likely that what we call injustice today was simply the "status quo".

The only injustices that I have had any success against are those injustices perpetrated against me and mine - and even then, I've not been 100% successful.

Look on the bright side. Your country has a black president. :)

Things can only get better for your part of the American population.

We'd be much better off with a President who was committed to Capitalism and small government so that we could grow the country instead of trying to just parcel what we have out.
