If you don't remember, Sam Mendes, who directed Skyfall, will not return to direct the next James Bond movie, which is such a shame since he did a great job directing.

Even though the next Bond movie won't be released for another 3-4 years,
who do you think should direct the next Bond movie?

I could get behind Brad Bird directing it, he did a great job with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol so he could easily do Bond as well, especially if done as an homage to the classic Sean Connery films. Given the way Skyfall ended, that approach would suit it quite well I think.

1.} Matthew Vaughn

He did a great job directing X-Men: First Class and also directed Layer Cake, which starred Daniel Craig.

2.} Martin Campbell

He directed GoldenEye and Casino Royale, so in case no other director signs on to direct the next Bond movie, he should be considered to direct his third Bond movie.

3.} Guy Ritchie

In the circumstance he doesn't direct a third Sherlock Holmes movie, he could easily direct a Bond movie too since he did a great job directing the first two Sherlock Holmes movies.

I personally thought Skyfall was rubbish, but maybe that was because of the storyline rather than the directing.

I didn't much like Lock, Stock (Guy Ritchie) or Trainspotting (Danny Boyle), but I did like Shallow Grave (Danny Boyle), and I've never heard of any of the other directors, so I suppose it's Danny Boyle for me!

Matthew Vaughn was actually offered Casino Royale by one of the producers, but one of the others insisted on Martin Campbell. I really dig Layer Cake, even more so than X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, and would certainly enjoy seeing what he could do with Bond.

Me.

I like gadgets, fiery explosions, shapely women in bikinis, and an occasional snarky comment leading up to the villain's gloating revelation of his nefarious plans.

Plot? What plot?

I liked Snatch better than Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels but I still liked both movies, haven't seen Ritchie's other films beyond Sherlock Holmes. I have never seen Trainspotting but I like Danny Boyle because of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, both written by Alex Garland and directed by Boyle.

Quentin Tarantino, or Kevin Smith
