Each year this lucrative race occurs, it endangers the lives of many innocent horses but too many people consider these precious animals expendable. The horses involuntarily take part in this hazardous race and unfortunately many end up dying. It's contemptible that many deem this race morally justifiable.

Any additional comments would be appreciated.

I am surprised that so many people will voice their concern at such issues yet remain silent over abuse and slaughter of fellow humans. Is it guilt that makes us feel the life of the animal is worth more?

It's one of the few ways the people of Aintree can get some protein in their diet.
