I feel as though the world of flirting is invisible to me

I now realize I am 18 and I have never once noticed any kind of romantic interest directed towards myself or anyone that I know. The only relationships I know about are those which I have been told of by other people.

Does anyone else feel that they just float along socially, and have to have things directly stated in order to notice them? (if they concern romantic interest).

I'm pretty much the same way, I can honestly say I've never picked up on anyone flirting with me. The only two instances where I have been able to pick up on flirtatious behavior were when the girls in question were extremely direct. In one instance, this girl (who was pretty intoxicated at the time) grabbed my head and told me to kiss her, and in another a customer in a store I used to work at grabbed me inappropriately. Even in those two situations though I didn't really realize they were coming on to me until after the fact, I thought they were just trying to be funny or something. It's a pity people don't just flat out say how they feel in romantic situations lol.

Don't feel too bad, I'm 56 and still can't pick up on women flirting with me.
(Until it's obvious. One woman where I work kept leaning close, making very direct eye contact and winking. When I didn't wink back or do whatever, she totally quit stopping by my desk.)

Same thing with me. Funny thing is that I can tell when others are flirting with eachother!
