Have your own private party. Play some of your favorite music and dance to it. :D

I like the ice cream plan :)

When I recently got my diagnosis I went home and reflected on my life - when I finished I came away a stronger person and understood all my struggles better... immediately I found closure. So that was my lasting life marking moment :)

Do something to imprint the exact date in your mind. If you choose to participate in any studies, surveys, or want to apply for any type of benefits or services, they will ask.

Of course, if you are the date memorizing type of spectrumite, you can disregard this, lol.

Other than that, do something that matches what the diagnosis means to you.

Do something you find fun! Go out for coffee, or treat yourself to a meal/sandwich. Start a journal!

Plant a tree? This can be the beginning of a "new life" for you.

I went home and had a meltdown.

The song "Cry (Just a Little)" was fittingly playing on the radio when I was going home. I did not expect it at all. My diagnoser kept me in the dark the whole time, and I honestly didn't know anything about Asperger's and thought I was being evaluated for bipolar disorder, like I originally requested.

hahaha

I had a meltdown. I hated being in a doctor's office, even if it was a psychologist's.

Go and do your favourite stimming activities for the rest of the day. :)

Ice-cream plan sounds good. Have pizza too.

I don't know if I can say this without sounding like a total jerk... but why is getting a positive diagnosis supposed to be a cause to celebrate when it come to Aspergers? Don't get me wrong, I'm just as inclined to say "congratulations! Celebrate!" as anyone.

But would we have that same reaction if someone got diagnosed with being bi-polar or DID or... Well you name it, I think you get my point. Why are we happy over an AS diagnosis? Maybe because it's a mystery solved closure thing? Still it does seem kind of strange in a way. Funny strange. Ironic strange.

I can't stop thinking about ice cream now....

My response wasn't anything to do with celebrating; I just think that icecream and pizza are a good idea on any day. :)

LOL that almost sounds like a joke.

You've just been diagnosed with Aspergers! What are you going to do next?!

I'm going to have a meltdown.
