I'm new to the forum and relatively new to Asperger's. I haven't had a chance to receive a diagnosis. Regardless, I relate to the difficulties with sensory overstimulation and executive functioning. I think my social skills can be deceiving since I've put a lot of effort into researching and emulating body language and small talk. Usually when I talk of my concerns with family and friends of the setbacks I've faced due to these weaker areas, I'm often told to just grow up and deal with with it. I put in more effort to complete simple, daily tasks than most people I know, but I'm glad I've been attending school and working like my peers. Lately, I've had the mindset that perhaps I don't have AS and it's just as my friends and family say, it's just an excuse for my own lack of self control and oversensitivities. I'm here to develop more self-acceptance by finding others who relate and learn more about AS and coping techniques. I enjoy video games, anime, personality theory, music, and learning about topics that interest me. Recently I've been fascinated by the idea of arachnid anatomy and identification, but I can't seem to find good sources to learn from. If anyone knows of one let me know .
