Anyone want to help a very inexperienced computer person figure out if someone has spyware/rootkit on my computer ?
I got a message the other day from my security Avast, the paid one not the free one and they said they detected a possibly malicious rootkit . Had no idea what that meant but stated a scan then had to shut down computer before it was done and now can't find it to finish the scan ? I tried to google the topic but most of the suggestions were way over my head and sounded like it would be to difficult to detect anyway .
Anyone have any experience with keystroke type rootkit , Someone told me it is similar to what some parents use to see what their kids are doing on their computers . Also, I think I may know who is doing this and would like to be able to see what they are doing on their computer to know for sure if they are spying on me .
Thanks for any suggestions . I would be willing to pay for a service if any one can suggest one I can trusts...worried about using one that will actually be spying on me ,,,,because now I am super paranoid and hate this feeling /
