This looks like a really good way to make friends! There's an organization called Youth Assisting Youth (YAY), that recruits volunteers to work with disadvantaged youth/those with emotional, social, and behavioural differences. I've been asked to spread info about this good cause to as many people as possible. Apparently, males are in most demand, as there is a shortage of male volunteers and they are trying to match mentors and mentees by gender.

I'm thinking that perhaps any of you who have been able to become pretty successful in spite of any obstacles can be really good models for young people.

Would you be interested in doing something like this, or are you involved in any other volunteer initiatives like this? What's your experience like? I'm curious as to how socially demanding doing something like this would be.
