I think it is an important point. One: labels if taken too far can causes us to not reach further and try to overcome our problems. It also points out the difficulty in a spectrum disorder that really does need well defined sub-groups. Behavioral and functional problems are not always correlated in an individual. In some cases the problems are not relevant and can be ignored, in other cases they are strengths. Too literal adherence to labels and problem oriented outlooks make it harder to overcome the problems or to focus on what a person can do.
