I enjoy background music. It's almost like the soundtrack to what I'm working on.

I find it also operates as a source of inspiration, and it assists in maintaining motivation. Tracks with driving basslines seem to work best for me.

Varies from time to time.

When I'm doing an oil painting, it is essential. Also, the mood of the music affects the mood of the painting.

The impression I've gotten online is that this is the typical reaction to music. I'm actually a little envious of the fact that people can draw inspiration from music, because either I have something or I don't. Turning on bubblegum pop when I need to write a dark scene is just distracting. On the upside, I get all my ideas from writing itself.

Whatever it is you create. It's easier than listing every possibility and more inclusive than simply inviting other writers.

Well I don't listen to bubble gum pop.

I am not proficient at multitasking, and listening to music while i'm doing anything complex, is a multitasking no-go for me.

Absolutely not. If I hear any music whilst writing, it's always the result of a combination of pot and psychedelics. I guess they're the house band of my head.

Ok, occasionally I'll listen to Der Ring des Nibelungen when I write, but that's not very often.

Im always listening to my record collection when I draw or it also helps me write songs. I enjoy listening to Classical and Country Music the most- but I also like Southern Gospel and older music from the glorious 1930s.

I never could listen to music while writing, but have had music or the occasional song lyric that really resonates inspire me to write.

I need silence, otherwise I lose the threads I'm trying to weave together. Knitting I can accomplish with minimal attention, so it's a good fallback.

I create music, so listening to it while creating it would probably defeat the purpose
