This is Wellstone; he is a five-year old tabby. He was born feral and rescued by my brother-in-law; I took him after it became clear that my niece and nephew were too rough with him. He's fairly quiet and doesn't like to be touched too much, wary of strangers but affectionate towards those he knows, and a little on the chunky side (when he crouches down, he looks like a turkey in a fur coat). I don't think I could have found an animal that reminded me so much of myself. By the way, he is named for the late Sen. Paul Wellstone of Minnesota, an progressive icon whose career was cut short by a plane crash.
