With the topics on characters you feel sorry for and now characters you do not like I thought I would ask if anyone developed a crush on a character.

Oh good, I thought my crush on Romana II (Dr. Who) meant there was something else wrong with me.

Laura Kroft and I'm not even lesbian.

Lister from Red Dwarf.

Ethan Frome

The dead guy from LEXX.

Lieutenant Ripley from the movie ALIEN (another girl!)

Judy Densch when she play "M" in OO7.

There will be many more I'm sure.

No, having a crush on fictional characters doesn't seem to be unusual.
I've never had any crush on an actor/actress, but I have had crushes on specific characters they play, while I have no reaction to other characters played by the same actress.

Ohh, yes, the unattainable ones;

Professor Snape from Harry Potter
Kerr Avon from Blake's 7
Sherlock Holmes from Sherlock.

OK, Avon isn't unattainable. *sighs*

It is good to know, it is also good to know that the good people here are willing to answer such questions.

I find it so much easier to have a crush on a fictional character than a real person.

Kaoru Kamiya from Rurouni Kenshin
Dot from Reboot
Sally Sparrow from Dr. Who: Blink (it's her face. She's adorable)
Reinette from Dr.Who: The Girl in the Fireplace
Sarah Jane Smith from Dr. Who
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow from The Avengers
Pepper Potts from Iron Man and The Avengers
Agent Maria Hill from The Avengers
J from My First Mister (the first 2/3 of the film)
Lulu from Pandora's Box (just like everyone in the film)
April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation
LIZ LEMON from 30 Rock (The caps are intentional)
Myka Bering from Warehouse 13

I could go on and on and on.
Kaoru is probably the person I like the most because it is the same whether she an anime character or from the live action version of Kenshin. She is endearing.
The others, it's a mix of the actress and how they play the character. Somewhere in my life, I was able to make the distinction between the actor and the character.
The exception might be Lulu and Louise Brooks. Lulu was Louise Brooks on many levels. It would be a disaster.

If I had to pick one, it would be Kaoru Kamiya, even though Liz Lemon was in all caps. I am a hopeless romantic when it comes to Kaoru and her relationship to Kenshin.

I hope my sons never read this, though they know about Liz Lemon.

Beavis from Beavis and Butt-Head

Leo from the web comic VG Cats
