The weirdest/most random kinds I get are for walk-in bathtubs and mail-order steaks. I'm sure lots of us have all gotten the money scam and slightly...err...inappropriate junk e-mails before, but has anyone ever just gotten junk e-mails that are really kind of random and "out there?" Seriously, I had no idea mail-order steaks existed until I started getting e-mails about them.

Is it the Omaha Steak company? Those are actually tasty and well-packed.

Email wise I've only gotten the random bogus virus scam, lately I've been getting a few from Outlook, like I'm too stupid to read 's-e-c-u-r-i-i-t-y'

As far as weird mail-order items, my brother got something called a Bark Box filled with dog treats such as Beefy Brown Ale, Tail Mix, and Pup-tato chips

I am our company's e-mail administrator; I wish I could remember all the weird stuff I've seen but some of the best probably escapes me at the moment.

I have to say, one of the weirdest things, since I know all the users personally, is that for some reason, the spammers always seem to get the gender of the person they're trying to e-mail wrong. It's like 100% consistent, and I think that is really, really unlikely and bizarre. You would think if they could be that consistent, they'd be always getting it right, not always wrong. If I wait and ignore it, then go back and check the filters months later, I always find that the same thing is still going on.

I got an email supposedly from a friend (who happens to be a terrible speller) saying that she was stranded in a foreign country. I knew it wasn't from her because there were no misspellings.

Yes, indeed.
Disturbing e-mails, they are.

I got a spam e-mail from someone who claimed to be my ex-girlfriend, and said she had been trying to contact me for months to get back together. She wanted me to route her money so that she could fly to see me.

It makes me wonder who is so clueless that they don't even remember who their ex-girlfriends are lol, because you know there's some person out there who's fallen for it.

But my favorite one is still my friend from Nigeria. I sent him $100,000 a few years ago so that he could reclaim his rightful place as king and send me all the riches of his kingdom, but I still haven't heard back from him...I just can't figure out why! I hope he's doing ok.

I actually had one that linked to a porn site once... wasn't happy about that...

Note to self: don't accidentally click a link near the delete button.

I once got an email suggesting I check out the fantastic sales offers at a particular online store. The remarkable thing was the email was from a guy I knew... who'd died three years earlier! 8O

Presumably the spammers had hacked his old Hotmail account.

The fake Runescape real-world trading lawsuit threatening one was the most annoying one I've got so far.

And they somehow always seem to go further in that one, despite of me ignoring it and knowing they're fake as f**k.

I forgot to mention the one I got from work. I was worried until I opened it and saw that it was a generic donation appeal. How did I get on that emailing list? And they know where so they know I can't afford to donate to them. :?

E-mails from people I knew when I was a kid, who claim they still live in Portland and want to meet up with me, but in reality either live somewhere else in Oregon or live far away from Oregon.
