Okay, I really like physics but something is stopping me from continuing to work on it. Whenever I start on my physics memories about how people insulted me about my skills come back to me. Also, thoughts about how others are better than me come to my mind and it puts me off. Why is this happening to me and how can I stop it?

For me what worked was considering self-thought - any thought about the self as an entity - to be a form of pride and ego, just sort of a shadowy version. When I came to this thought - that thought about the self and what people say, in relation to it, whether it is good or bad is pride, then I was able to take the pride and reject it for the pure action itself.

Trying to solve some similar negative thoughts myself, my neuro-psych has suggested talk therapy and exposure therapy.
Also fixing my thoughts from not negative and not over positive but just logically.
Nothing is going to be overnight but it will be something you will have to expose yourself to situations and see that they turn out ok and then you will gradually begin to groove a new more logical path in your brain though you can still slip back into thinking that way and set you back a bit....
