In Job and other Biblical works protest theology is not exactly unknown. Would not lying, vainly and futilely attempting to deceive the Most High, be worse than complaint? It would be an insult to the Divine Majesty. Still you are probably right about judging the Creator and Giver of life. I just do not think that people's genuine concerns, however misguided, should be dismissed so cavalierly.

I don't think we should blame god for everything wrong, or freewill, or Santan.
I mean, seriously, racism isn't the reason for anything wrong in a non-white person's life, nor are Satan, free-will, God the reason for anything wrong in a religous someone's life.

Not free will? Obviously it would be more accurate to say specific choices for which we are accountable have negative consequences rather than complain about free will without which we would be more enslaved than we are.

I'm not complaining. I'm simply saying that one individual's free-will - well, it is REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to see how that could be accuontable for natural distasters.

You know, he sort of looks more like Zeus than Yahweh/Jehovah... I never did trust Zeus - he is worse than most of my fellow-men, not to mention than nearly all women. Of the Greek goddesses, only Aphrodite is as bad, though Hera, Athena and Artemis have rather short tempers; sort of understandable in Hera's case; Hestia seems sort of nice, though her Roman counterpart Vesta demanded a harsh punishment for those of her priestesses who violated their vows. I sort of relate to Hephaistos a bit though. Is Mitch8817 sending up people's protestations? Honestly, Asperger's Syndrome, or the form I have, does not seem that bad (obviously I am not qualified to speak for all of the Autistic Spectrum). There are things that test my faith rather more...

Relax Aunubis, it's better than bubonic plague (the Black Death) not to mention than rivers turning to blood, boils, or the death of the first born. Actually the last is no jesting matter. I do not understand this part of Exodus. It is one of the passages that tempts one towards Marcionism.

Paula,

Thank you for your kind, warm post. I too, am a Christian. I believe God made me different to teach me a compassion for His creatures. My viewpoints make me a distinct minority on this board. My faith and beliefs are very personal and a matter of the heart.

I feel very suprised when I see Christian aspies on the net. I just don't understand how you could reconcile that belief with who you are. Seeing as lots of religious people believe God "speaks to them", does he ever provide an apology or explanation as to why some people have to have asperger's, or any condition or disability?[/i]

I don't need any apology or any explanations. I don't need anyone to blame, I don't need to feel sorry for myself either. Life is a challenge to everyone, I accept it as it is. There are people who suffer more than I ever have and who still hold on to their faith, my pain is nothing compared to theirs. Why should I complain about AS and lose my faith? At least I have food on my table, already that is a blessing, many people starve to death and nobody cares.

AS is sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. Life is difficult for everyone who don't see the big picture, they fail to recognise and appreciate those moments that make life worth living. I'm grateful for my life as it is and I thank God for every moment of happiness.
