The vests with weights help for a short while but then your body gets accustomed to them and they lose their effect. There's another product out there called the BioHug Vest that keeps changing where it applies the pressure so your body never gets used to it and it maintains the effect indefinitely. Different people find they get relief after about 20 minutes. The guy who started WrongPlanet,, Alex Plank, tried it on at a conference a couple of years ago and seemed to love it. Just look up BioHug and WrongPlanet on youtube and see for yourself.

I would wear it around the office and just tell people that it gives you a massage because you have a problem with your back muscles and this gives you relief. That's pretty innocuous. Lots of people have different kinds of back issues. You don't have to wear it all day, just whenever you feel you need it. Maybe just wear it on the way to work and take it off when you get there. I'm not sure how long the effect lasts, but probably for a few hours.

Why not just have a blanket? If anyone asks, just say you get cold easily.

Also, if your type of work allows for it, see if you can work remotely some days. That would allow you to do what you need to do to unwind, and may help you relax while in the office.
