Many thanks for sending this.

I would also recommend people signing this if they haven't done so already. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/43154

I've started a thread about the potential recognition of people on the autism spectrum as a minority group by the UN. Please let me know what you think:

Dear Aspendos,

Apologies for the late reply but I couldn't get 'reply to post' before (can't seem to use this forum without help).

It's an interesting idea, but I don't see how the UN can enforce this even in one country, never mind worldwide. Also, I'm not quite sure of a definition of a minority group and how it applies to autistic spectrum people who are from extremely diverse backgrounds and very different from each other. Obviously if it will help anyone, or at least provoke a bit of discussion (hopefully outside of this forum where it seems to have caused a fair bit of arguing just from what I have seen) then anything that improves the general knowledge concerning autism spectrum conditions is a good idea.

I would like to discuss further but find this hard to use,. (No good on computers anyway).

All the best

D Maher
